Actor Quinton Aaron is continuing his recovery after a near-fatal health crisis—but what he discovered after waking up has added a deeply personal layer to his story.

After suffering a spinal stroke in January 2026, the The Blind Side star was placed on life support and remained in a coma for four days. When he regained consciousness, his family delivered unexpected news: the woman he believed to be his wife was still legally married to another man.

According to Aaron, he had been told throughout the relationship that his wife, Margarita DeLeon, had been divorced for over a decade. However, while he was hospitalized, an attorney uncovered records showing her previous marriage had never been legally finalized.

Due to her legal status, she could not make medical decisions on his behalf, which ultimately led to her removal from his care team during his hospitalization.

Aaron later reflected on the situation, calling his failure to verify her marital status his “biggest mistake.”
