Dwight Howard Files for Divorce from Wife Amy Luciani Amid Allegations

Former NBA star Dwight Howard has officially filed for divorce from his wife, rapper and reality television personality Amy Luciani, whose legal name is Amber Rose Howard.

According to court documents filed Monday in Georgia, Howard stated the marriage is “irretrievably broken” with no hope of reconciliation. The filing comes just over a year after the couple tied the knot on January 11, 2025.

Reports indicate Howard requested exclusive use of the couple’s Georgia mansion as part of the divorce proceedings. The filing arrives shortly after Luciani posted emotional videos on social media, making serious allegations about the former NBA champion.

In the videos, she claimed Child Protective Services had been called to their home multiple times and accused Howard of having a drug problem. Howard has not publicly addressed the accusations, and the claims have not been independently confirmed.

More Details Behind Dwight Howard and Amy Luciani’s Relationship

The couple’s relationship has been turbulent over the past year. Luciani initially filed for divorce in July 2025, just six months after their wedding, but later withdrew the petition. Howard also filed a divorce request during that period before both parties reconciled and dismissed the filings.

In the latest development, Luciani reportedly attempted to file for divorce the same day as Howard, though Howard’s paperwork was processed first.

Under ‘The Shade Room’s’ Instagram post, she responded to Dwight Howard filing for divorce, saying,

“Racing me to file this time is small news when I filed first last year… all good, but still not going to visit my stepdaughter one single time, who was taken & has been with the state since Thursday, is more hurtful to me. Us adults will be ok, but the kids need better. This too shall pass.”

The split follows a series of highly public disputes and allegations that have drawn significant attention online in recent days.

Howard, an eight-time NBA All-Star and former champion with the Los Angeles Lakers, has not yet issued a detailed public statement regarding the divorce.
