TARRIS REED JR. REVEALS HIS SECRET TO UNLOCKING HIS GAME PERFORMANCE

21-year-old UCONN Huskies basketball player, Tarris Reed Jr., reveals his secret to unlocking his game performance.

Following Wednesday’s double-double at a postgame press conference, Reed was asked what unlocked his game performance. Without hesitation, he responded,

“Honestly, I’m gonna be real. I just got back in my Bible man, I had to get back in the Word. It’s been a while since I sat down and spent time with God. I’ve been so caught up in my daily day to life.”

Reeds continued to say,

Man, it’s been a tough month stretch, my coach has been on me, it’s been feeling like the world is coming down, so I sat and spent some time with the Lord, and ultimately I get my confidence from Him.

It hasn’t always been this way. Reed grew up in a Christian household, though it wasn’t extremely religious. Two years ago, as a freshman at Michigan, he shared what his first few years of being in Michigan were like after being away from his St. Louis home:

I found myself caught in so many different things, not focused on basketball.” It wasn’t until his strength coach, Jon Sanderson, randomly approached him, asking him about his faith. Sanderson suggested he read the first four books in the New Testament. “It changed my life,” Reed recalled. “The way I walk, talk, act, speak. Jesus has literally changed me from the inside out. I love talking about the Lord and what He’s done for my life, so I can go out and help others.

This isn’t the first time Tarris Reed revealed where his daily strength comes from. He’s made it clear several times throughout his first season at UCONN that basketball and everything else in his life are secondary to his personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
