Tiger Woods Loses Driver’s License For 5 Years After Plea Deal

Tiger Woods is going to have to find another way to get around for a while.

The golf legend has had his driver’s license suspended for five years after reaching a plea deal connected to a March crash in Florida.

Woods appeared in court Wednesday and pleaded no contest to a reduced charge of reckless driving. The original DUI charge was reduced as part of the deal, so Woods was not convicted of DUI.

The judge also ordered Woods to pay roughly $1,500 in fines.

But the biggest consequence? He can’t legally drive for the next five years.

Woods was reportedly warned that there would be no exceptions to the suspension. If he gets behind the wheel anyway, he could face jail time.

The case goes back to March, when Woods’ vehicle crashed near his home in Jupiter Island, Florida. His SUV reportedly clipped the trailer of a truck before rolling over.

Thankfully, no one was seriously injured.

Woods was initially facing a DUI charge, but prosecutors ultimately determined there wasn’t enough evidence to prove that he was impaired. A breath test showed no alcohol, while Woods had also refused to provide a urine sample.

Authorities found hydrocodone in his possession, but prosecutors said he had a valid prescription for the medication.

So, after months of legal proceedings, Woods now has his answer: no jail time, but no driving for five years.

For someone who has spent decades traveling the world for golf, that’s definitely going to be an adjustment.

Tiger has dealt with plenty of setbacks over the years, both personally and professionally. Now he has another one to add to the list.
