Kroger Plans To Close 60 Stores In The Next 18 Months

You’re local Kroger could be closing down soon.

Cincinnati-based grocery store chain made the announcement Friday (June 20) after operating thousands of supermarkets and pharmacies across the nation, the company plans to close 60 stores in the next 18 months, a first-quarter 2025 earnings report said.

According to Fox Business, the report also stated the closures cost Kroger a $100 million impairment charge.

Employees affected by the shutdowns will be offered positions at the nearby locations. Saved funds will go toward investing in “customer experience” at the remaining stores.

Kroger told Fox News Digital that the company will not be releasing a list of which locations will be impacted at this time.
