Andrew and Tristan Tate Arrested In Miami As U.K Seeks Extradition On New Charges
Andrew and Tristan Tate were arrested by federal authorities in Miami on Saturday following an extradition request from the UK related to new criminal charges.
According to U.S. Marshals, Andrew and Tristan Tate were picked up on a sealed warrant. British prosecutors are looking to extradite them on 38 new charges covering rape, human trafficking, assault, and child abuse material, spanning from 2010 to 2017.
The Tate brothers, who hold dual US and UK citizenship, are no strangers to legal troubles. They were previously charged in Romania over separate human trafficking allegations. Andrew and Tristan have repeatedly denied all the claims, and their attorney is calling these new UK charges politically motivated, adding that the brothers fully plan to fight them in court.
Andrew and Tristan are expected to appear in federal court in Miami as extradition proceedings move forward. A judge will determine the next steps in the case, including whether they’ll be transferred to the United Kingdom to face prosecution.
