Shannon Sharpe Hit With $50Milion Lawsuit
A 20-year-old woman just hit Shannon Sharpe with a $50M lawsuit, accusing him of sexual assault, harassment, and intimidation–a huge blow to one of sports media’s biggest voices.
According to FOX News, ‘Jane Doe’ filed a 13-page complaint on Sunday (April 20th) against Sharpe in a Nevada state court. Jane says that they maintained a ‘rocky consensual relationship’ that lasted around two years. Within the complaint, details state that Shannon Sharpe, 56, allegedly recorded their sexual activities without her knowledge or approval. Jane Doe also confirms that it was another woman he accidentally went live with on Instagram while having sex, an incident that took place last year.
Jane Doe also says that following the viral incident, she attempted to disassociate herself from Sharpe, but he allegedly continued to pursue her by continuously calling her phone and demanding details of her location.
In court documents obtained by the outlet, Jane also alleges that Sharpe began forcing unprotected sex without her consent and despite her demands for him to stop or wear a condom.
“A woman can say “yes” to consensual sexual relations with a man ninety-nine times, but when she says ‘no’ even once, that ‘no’ means no,” reads the first page of the complaint.
After many months of manipulating, controlling, and repeatedly threatening to choke and violently slap her brutally, Sharpe refused to accept the answer no and raped her, despite her sobbing and with screams of ‘no,’” the complaint alleges. Jane also alleges that Sharp sexually assaulted her while in Las Vegas in October of 2024 and again in January 2025.
Micah Nash and Tony Buzbee are currently representing Jane.
Sharpe has responded to the allegations, saying,
“This is a shakedown. I’m going to defend myself because it’s right.”
Shannon Sharpe’s Accuser Fails To Appear In Court
On July 9, with the attorney also absent from the downtown Las Vegas Courtroom, Shannon Sharpes ‘sexual assault accuser failed to appear in court.
Judge Albetson reportedly expressed disappointment, and legal analysis questioned the accuser’s strategy.
“Whether to set up a settlement conference or to set hearings for litigation, you’d expect all parties to be present,” attorney Robert Draskoviah told KLAS-TV. I can’t see a tactical advantage to be gained by failing to appear.”
Clark County District Court Judge Anna Albertson postponed the case for 45 days with the next hearing set for Sept 3.
