Usher Files Lawsuit Against Bryan-Michael Cox
According to court documents filed in Fulton County, Usher loaned $1.7 million to Cox, attorney Alcide Honoré, and business partners Keith Thomas and Charles Hughes.
Raymond claims money was placed in Honoré’s attorney’s trust account and was intended to purchase property on Piedmont Road for a planned venue called “Homage ATL”; however, the purchase never happened.
The lawsuit includes claims of fraud, breach of contract, and unjust enrichment. Usher is seeking $4.9 million in total damages, stating that $1 million has been returned but $ 3.9 million remains unpaid.
What Bryan-Michael Cox Is Saying
Cox publicly responded to the lawsuit via Instagram, clarifying that he is a passive minority shareholder in the company involved.
“I’ve learned a lot recently about being careful with who you choose to invest in a failed deal that I didn’t orchestrate, and while the situation has been disappointing, I know my name will be cleared by both sides. It’s just unfortunate that this clarity didn’t come sooner,” Cox said.
He also shared that his 27-year friendship with Usher “remains fully intact,” and said he believes the truth will come out as the case moves forward.
The case is now moving through the court system. More updates will follow as filings and responses continue.
