ESPN Cuts Ties With Shannon Sharpe After Settling Sexual Assault Lawsuit
Shannon Sharpe’s era for ESPN is officially over.
According to Andrew Marchand’s report on Wednesday, ESPN and Shannon Sharpe have parted ways. The move comes shortly after Sharpe settled a $50 million lawsuit with OnlyFans model Gabriella Zuniga, though specific details on the separation are currently limited.
Gabriella Zuniga accused Sharpe of four charges: assault, sexual assault, battery, and sexual battery in late 2024 and early 2025.
Sharpe denied “all allegations of coercion or misconduct” in a statement through his legal counsel.

Shannon Sharpe has been on leave from ESPN since April, the same month he was named in a civil lawsuit filed in Nevada state court.
“At this juncture I am electing to step aside temporarily from my ESPN duties. I will be devoting this time to my family, and responding and dealing with these false and disruptive allegations set against me,” Sharpe said in April.
ESPN backed Sharpe’s decision to take time away, telling The Post: “This is a serious situation, and we agree with Shannon’s decision to step away.”
NFL Hall of Famer and podcaster departed “Undisputed” in 2023 and became a weekly analyst on First Take. Sharpe also hosts podcasts, Club Shay Shay and Nightcap.
