Le’Andria Johnson Responds To Public Scrutiny And Talks Accountability
On her recent appearance on the Isaac Carree Show, Le’Andria Johnson responds to public scrutiny and talks accountability regarding her alcohol addiction.
The discussion about accountability arose following public scrutiny in December 2024.
Police arrested a 42-year-old Sunday Best winner for public intoxication in Greenville, South Carolina. The incident occurred after BrickTop’s, a local restaurant, reported a customer causing a disturbance.
During that time, the arrest sparked mixed reactions, leaving followers concerned about what happened to the acclaimed gospel singer. Some have shown empathy for her battle with alcohol addiction, while others have criticized her behavior and called for accountability.
In response to her arrest, Johnson posted a YouTube video, apologizing to the Greenville community.
“To all my family, my friends, and my supporters. I just want to say thank you for your continued prayers and love. I do see all of the text messages and all of the phone calls,” I’m just taking this time now to really woosah.’ This (alcoholism) is a daily walk, and this has been a daily walk for me for some time, I’m yet still growing.”
Le’Andria has opened up about her struggles with alcoholism before. She has maintained transparency throughout her music career as a gospel artist. In 2019, she appeared on an episode of OWN’s Iyanla Fix My Life, where the singer revealed her participation in a 30-day rehab program and a subsequent 30-day jail sentence after driving under the influence.

In the episode, talk show host Isaac Caree asked Le’Andria’s brother, Lee, who was also present during her arrest, about his relationship with Johnson and about the times he had held her accountable.
“What does everybody want me to say? I messed up. I put my family in danger. I put myself in danger. I could’ve killed somebody.”
After being asked if she’s currently taking steps to make changes, Johnson stated,
“Yes, I am making the steps to change and do better, but it ain’t going to be on your time. Because He’s [God] is still dealing with me. And my time may take longer than your time “
Le’Andria Johnson has recently wrapped up chapter one of her book and is also releasing a new single.
