GloRilla Released On Bond After Being Arrested For Felony Charges
TGIF rapper GloRilla was arrested on Tuesday, July 22, on two felony drug charges and was released later that day after posting a $22,000 bond.
GloRilla Arrested For Felony Drug Possession
According to TMZ, the 25-year-old rapper, whose real name is Gloria Hallelujah Woods, was booked into the Forsyth County Jail.
Considered serious offenses under Georgia Law, GloRilla reportedly faced two felony charges: possession of a schedule I controlled substance and possession of marijuana over one ounce.
The arrest stemmed after Glo’s family member called law enforcement for a violent home invasion that took place Saturday (July 19) around 1:30 a.m. Three suspects broke into Gloria’s home in the Atlanta suburbs and fled with jewelry before the officers arrived.
While searching the property, deputies claimed they smelled marijuana and secured a search warrant while claiming to find a “significant amount” of weed in a closet. Later, Glo was charged with a felony of drug possession.
GloRilla’s Legal Team Reacts To Arrest
In a statement by TMZ, her attorneys stated,
“When her family members did the right thing and called law enforcement, instead of investigating the violent home invasion and theft at Ms. Woods’ home, they instead sought a search warrant when they spotted what they believed was a small amount of marijuana. Law enforcement then sought arrest warrants for her even though she hadn’t been at her home for some time. No arrest warrants have been issued for the violent home invaders. Ms. Woods is a victim, not a suspect. This is our tax dollars at work, absolutely unbelievable.”
GloRilla Speaks Out: “No, I Wasn’t Busted-My House Got Robbed’
Following an arrest for drug possession, Glo took to X, saying,
“Crazy!! My House got Home Invaded Saturday While I was in Indianapolis performing for the WNBA ass star game & instead of Focusing on finding the Suspects, they focus on some cannabis.
- So no I wasn’t busted
- My house got robbed
- I wasn’t home
Long story short my house gets home invaded and I’m the only one that gets arrested.
So that’s the tea.
This latest legal issue comes nearly a year after her DUI arrest in Gwinnett County, Georgia. During that previous stop, officers reported smelling alcohol and marijuana and noted she struggled to maintain her balance.
